We want our campsite to be somewhere that you can relax, escape from the hustle & bustle, and feel surrounded by nature. We are only able to accommodate a handful of guests at any one time so the site is naturally quite quiet and relaxed, this also means we have no need for a huge facilities block with bright lights and flushing toilets, instead we provide just the bare necessities to get you by.
It just aint camping without the opportunity to sit by an open fire and toast marshmallows as the sun goes down. Fire pits are available for your use, and we have plenty of wood and kindling (plus the obligatory marshmallows) to keep you going.
Please only use the wood provided in our shop for your camp fires, and not use any of the wood you find lying around as this could be home to something delicate and ecologically important, and most of it is the wood that heats our family during the harsh winters.
Seasoned logs are available to buy at our honesty shop. We can also provide firelighters and matches and the all important marshmallows!
Please keep your BBQs off the ground. Ask us for some bricks.
Our facilities shed contains a shower with space to get changed and hang up your clothes and towels. The water for the shower is heated using a gas powered water heater. As it heats the water instantly, you will never get a scolding hot shower, but a comfortably warm shower, and will be available 24 hours a day.
If possible, we ask that muddy boots are removed before entering the shower room.
Due to the 2020 pandemic we expect all of our guests to clean the shower room with the provided cleaning products after they have used it.
There are NO EXCUSES for leaving the shower untidy.
A covered washing up area can be found outside the toilet and shower shed. It has a sink (with hot water) with draining board, bowl and drainers.
There may be washing up liquid, sponges and/or cloths left by other campers, but you may want to bring your own.
All of the water on site is drinking water but we also provide a stand pipe here to make it easier to fill up water containers.
Recycling and waste disposal point is also located here.
Please keep this area clean and tidy after use, and please do not leave dirty dishes in this area.
These are a great solution where conventional toilets are not an option and provide a fantastic way of saving water.
Our composting toilet is comfortable and clean, and by using a design that separates liquids and solids means that they don't actually smell that bad.
Please make sure that no sanitary products (please use the bin provided) or sawdust gets put into the urine separator as this will cause blockages. Covering your doings with a couple of generous handfuls of sawdust, and opening the window when you leave will help us make some great ‘humanure’.

Livestock: We are a working farm and from time to time you may be neighbours to the friendly sheep that we rear, or our horses and ponies. You must never feed the animals unless we have specifically said that it was OK to do so, and then only with the feed that we provide.
Please close the gates behind you.
Dogs are allowed on site, as long as they are well behaved and that you keep them under control. Please try to prevent them from digging, and chasing the wildlife and livestock.
We regret that dogs are not allowed in the bell tents.
We sell firewood, kindling, firelighters, charcoal, disposable BBQs, matches and marshmallows. We may have a few eggs from time to time, and local meats (bacon, sausages, burgers & BBQ packs) are available from the fridge or freezer. There are cans of pop, chocolate bars, bags of sweets, tins of beans, tomatoes, pot noodles and ice lollies also, plus a few other bits and bobs. Please tell us of any other items you would like to see in the honesty shop.
We are a proud member site of the Freedom Camping Club.
