Glamping

glamping /ˈɡlampɪŋ/
noun BRITISH informal
a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.

From £50 per night^

^ Selected dates. Price includes upto 2 Adults and 2 children for a minimum 2 night stay. Children are extra.

We don’t really like to use the term “glamping” at Hidden Valley. It’s become synonymous with rows of static units laid out like a holiday park, often with very little space or privacy between them. That might suit some people, but it’s a world away from what we offer here.

This year, we’ve deliberately taken things even further back to basics, paring the bell tents right back to focus on space, simplicity and the experience of being outdoors. Each tent is thoughtfully positioned to give you privacy and plenty of room to sit outside, gather around the campfire and enjoy the stunning valley views.

Let’s call it glamp-ish: less fuss, fewer frills, more space and a much closer connection to the outdoors.

Beautiful Bells

Our two gorgeous five-metre, part-furnished bell tents are set on their own individual plateaus on the east-facing slope of the valley, catching the morning light as the day begins and offering a real sense of privacy and space. Each bell tent includes a comfortable double bed, its own wood-burning stove, an outdoor firepit, and a private kitchen shelter with a double-ring gas burner.

This season, rather than increasing our prices, we’ve chosen to pare the bell tents back slightly and invite guests to bring their own camping essentials such as sleeping bags, bedding and cookware. This saves time on cleaning and preparation between stays, helping to keep the experience more affordable, while fitting perfectly with our back-to-basics ethos. You still enjoy a little luxury, though — arriving to a beautiful tent already pitched, with a proper bed waiting, so you can settle in and start relaxing straight away.

The Bell Tents include:
  • Double bed with bottom sheet
  • A small wooden table with 2 chairs
  • A few books
  • Battery powered candles and lanterns
  • A wood burning stove with a basket of logs and kindling to get you going (more available to buy at the shop)
  • A carbon monoxide alarm
  • A little kitchen hut
  • Double gas ring with gas
  • Picnic bench with parasol
  • Firepit
  • plus the most wonderful views.

Please note that the images below are for illustrative purposes only and show the bell tents as they appeared in previous seasons when fully furnished. A fully furnished option for two people is available for an additional fee - please select this option at the time of booking if required.

What our guests say

Below are just a handful of reviews from previous guests. Please feel free to see our reviews on Pitchup, Cool Camping, TripAdvisor, Google and anywhere else you may find us.

  • We were all really impressed with the accommodation and facilities on the site. The views from our tent made our experience even more better. Carole Donnan
  • We stayed in 1 of the bell tents which was spotlessly clean and really well furnished with lots of candles and and fairy lights for a really magical look in the evening and the separate kitchen hut was really well thought out and provided the perfect balance of amenities versus the back to basics element of camping that my family love. Will 100% be returning soon! Thank you. Thomas Bird
  • Me, my partner and our little girl (6) stayed in one of the bell tents at Hidden Valley for 2 nights and it was just perfect. The views were stunning and the surroundings were beautiful. This is our first time camping with our little one as I was never a fan but honestly, I couldn’t want for more.. I really loved our stay :) Danielle Hodge
  • This is our second visit to Hidden Valley Campsite. We camped in the top field a couple of years ago and fell in love with the peaceful setting and scenary of this campsite. We returned again this summer and stayed in one of the bell tents and we were not disappointed. The bell tent and kitchen hut were very clean and well equipped. The individual kitchen huts are a great idea with the right amount of utensils to make family cooking easy. The owners were really helpful and genuinely friendly. This is a great site, lovely place to relax and explore the surrounding countryside. Our children are already asking when we will be going back so we will definitely be returning. Thanks! J & H :) The Powells
  • Booked this as a surprise birthday treat and in spite of the wet weather, it did not disappoint. The location is scenic and peaceful (aside from the amazing dawn chorus!) with lots of space between you and your nearest neighbours. The bell tents have been thoughtfully furnished, are cosy and comfortable, and with the lanterns lit, look quite magical. The little ‘kitchen’ hut was well equipped and it was fun to use the fire pit. The owners were helpful and friendly but unintrusive. All in all, a great place for quiet getaway - all the fun of camping with added home comforts and without all that packing. Anne
  • I don't really want to write a review because I want to keep this beautiful place a secret for myself. It is such a lovely peaceful place, so quiet, only the sounds of the farm animals and wildlife to be heard. Lovely, friendly owners there to lend a hand if needed but largely left to our own devices. Free to roam the extensive lands and plenty of beautiful countryside to be enjoyed, didn't see a soul apart from cows! Night sky worth a mention as so clear and unspoiled by unnatural light. Can't wait to go back! Nicola
