Terms & Conditions

Nobody likes rules, and we want you to enjoy your time here of course.. but we also want to enjoy your time here, so there are a few common sense conditions that we expect all of our guests to adhere to. By making a booking you accept the following Terms & Conditions:

The Greener Camping Club

In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £10 for the calendar year and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the Club’s ‘Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member we enrol.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after notifying us of your arrival.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals (after 8pm) must notify us as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Cancellations

If you cancel your holiday less than six weeks before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday for the dates you have booked, we will refund your deposit and balance, less a 20% admin fee. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, or if you cancel within 7 days of arrival, no refund will be made.

We reserve the right to cancel a camping or bell tent holiday at short notice due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. We cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.

Please note that under any cancellation circumstance, your Greener Camping Club mebership fee is non-refundable.

Weather

This campsite can be subjected to harsh weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year. You must ensure that your tent is robust and pitched correctly. In somes cases we may ask you to move to another pitch. Please note, we do not provide a refund because the weather has not worked out, or is not to your liking.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome on site, except for breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Dogs are not permitted in the bell tents and must be kept under control at all times. We understand that dogs may bark occasionally; however, persistent or continual barking that disturbs other campers will not be permitted, and you may be asked to take appropriate steps to resolve this.

General

The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Safety

Barbecues and firepits are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times; bricks are available for this purpose. The site is natural and uneven in places, with features such as rabbit holes, brambles and nettles. Horses, sheep, barbed wire and farm machinery may be present or in use around the site. These are typical countryside risks and should be self-evident, but please ask if anything is unclear. We cannot accept responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times.

Vehicles

We currently operate as a vehicle-free campsite and do not offer campervan pitches. We are exploring limited vehicle access at certain times for unloading on arrival and loading on departure, as well as the possibility of accommodating campervans in the future, but this is not yet available.

Vehicles and motorbikes are not permitted by pitches and must be parked in the designated car park. Parking is limited to one car per pitch. Additional vehicles are charged at £10 and may be required to park in a separate field, subject to availability.

Cleaning

We expect all guests to clean up after themselves. Throughout coronavirus, our campers have shown that it is entirely possible to keep the site, toilets and shower clean and tidy, and we expect this to continue. Children may need to be accompanied to the toilet, and any sawdust or paper towels used should be cleared up afterwards. There is no excuse for leaving shared facilities in an untidy state. Anyone deliberately doing so will be asked to leave the site. Taking a few moments ensures a clean, tidy and safe environment for everyone.

Recycling & rubbish

Recycling is a mandatory condition of staying on site. All waste must be correctly separated, including glass, tins, plastic, paper, cardboard and food waste, and placed in the designated bins. Deliberate failure to recycle will result in guests being asked to leave the site, with no refund given. Please take home large items such as airbeds, tents and broken chairs, which cannot be disposed of on site.

Campfires

Campfires are allowed in firepits and must be raised off the ground. Only wood purchased on site may be used. Fires must never be left unattended. Please consider weather conditions carefully and avoid lighting fires during windy or hot, dry periods. By lighting a fire, you accept full responsibility for its safe use. We cannot accept liability for any injury or damage caused.

Chemical Toilet Disposal

There is no chemical disposal point on site, so all waste must be taken home for disposal.

Day visitors

We’re happy for you to share our site with friends and family, provided it doesn’t affect the peace and enjoyment of others. Day visitors are only permitted by prior agreement and may be subject to a fee. Parking may be off-site on the farm to avoid limiting guest spaces, and all visitors must leave by 8pm.

Property loss

We cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Additional Terms & Conditions relating to bell tent bookings

Gas for the Camp Kitchen

Gas for the camp kitchen cooker is included in the price of the booking. Please use the gas cooker in accordance with the instructions and never leave anything aflame if you are not in attendance.

Breakages & Damage

Should any damage or breakages occur, other than acceptable wear and tear, a charge for reapirs or replacement will be made. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where a bell tent has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structure, movement of furniture and contents etc. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, smoke or general damage, or alteration to the structure caused by negligence.

Please clean up after yourselves.

Measures that we had to put in place in 2020 have shown us that all campers can actually be respectful and clean, and so there is no excuse for leaving the toilets and shower in a mess. A few seconds of your time wiping down after yourself is all we ask, and the place remains clean and tidy and safe for the next person. If we find anyone not even trying then we will ask you to leave. Please check that your children haven't left sawdust or paper towels all over the place - supervision may be required. Please report anyone who flouts this rule.

Please sanitise your hands.

We should all be used to this by now, and we hope that everyone continues to use the soap and sanitser that we provide around the site to keep your hands germ free.

No excuses. Just common sense and a little bit of respect is all we ask. Thank you.
